We are rich in biodiversity

We are lucky to live in one of the "hot spots" of the planet's biodiversity (hotspots) and in the country with the most biodiversity in Europe. We have more than 85,000 species, more than 50% of animal species in Europe and 80% of vascular plant species. In addition, 30% of the Spanish territory is part of the Natura 2000 Network, a European network for the protection of spaces of high ecological value.

Without ecology there is no economy. Healthy ecosystems are needed for economic activity

Today we know that 40% of the world economy depends on healthy biodiversity and ecosystems. The link, therefore, of the business world with biodiversity is evident and its profitability is affected if we lose it.

In addition there are important business niches in the field of the 'green' economy. Because all this natural wealth is also natural capital.

Be a reference in biodiversity

The mission of the Biodiversity Foundation is to contribute to the protection and conservation of our natural heritage and biodiversity, from a double perspective. The execution of large conservation projects and the channeling of grants and funds - many of them European funds - for the development of projects of other entities such as NGOs, research entities, universities, etc. collaborating every year in more than 300 projects.

Fundación Biodiversidad is an entity attached to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment created in 1998 to protect our natural capital and our biodiversity.
