The Alliance Française Foundation is the parent company of Alliances Françaises in the world. It aims, in accordance with the ideals of the Alliance Française founded in Paris in 1883, to develop the teaching and use of the French language in the world, to promote exchanges between cultures and to contribute to cultural diversity. To achieve its objectives, the Alliance Française Foundation supports the Alliances Françaises which are 834 locations in 133 countries on 5 continents.
