Description
Peace through Evaluation, Learning, and Adaptation II (PELA II activity will provide collaborating, learning, and adapting (CLA) and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) support to USAID/West Africa’s peace and governance initiatives.
PELA II will support the USAID/West Africa (USAID/WA) from 2022 to 2027 to be a more effective, efficient, and adaptable operating unit in achieving the development objective which is: “Democracy, Peace, and Stability Enhanced”. Under this development objective, USAID/WA supports the efforts of West Africans to peacefully address problems, and West African regional institutions to respond to governance challenges. USAID/WA is also a knowledge hub for countering violent extremism in the West Africa region. PELA II will strengthen USAID/WA’s effectiveness implementing its projects; coordinating its activities; learning from its experiences; and serving as an information, communication, and thought leader regarding peace promotion and countering violent extremism (CVE) in the West Africa region.
To respond to ever-evolving violent extremism (VE) threats, USAID/WA must be flexible, adaptable, and constantly reviewing and assessing the VE landscape. Correspondingly, PELA II must demonstrate the ability to modify its approaches quickly as environments and dynamics evolve. PELA II will engage in “Pause and Reflect”1 activities and events to help USAID/WA, its implementing partners, and stakeholder partners to determine if they are on the right track or if course corrections are required to ensure that desired outcomes are pursued effectively.
