1. The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has received a loan from the World Bank/AIIB towards the cost of Karachi Water & Sewerage Services Improvement Project (KWSSIP), and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the Construction and Protection/ Rehabilitation Work for G.K Conduit, K-II, K-III, 84" Diameter Balance Conveyance and 36" Diameter Malir Main at Malir River Bed Phase-I and Phase-III.
2. Project Implementation Unit (PIU) KWSSIP, Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KW&SB) (the Employer) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the Construction and Protection/ Rehabilitation Work for G.K Conduit, K-II, K-III, 84" Diameter Balance Conveyance and 36" Diameter Malir Main at Malir River Bed Phase-I and Phase-III
3. Bidding will be conducted through national competitive procurement using Request for Bids (RFB) as specified in the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers dated July 2016 (Revised November 2017 & August 2018) (“Procurement Regulations”), and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations  & Bidding Document.
4. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from the Office of the Project Director, Project Implementation Unit (KWSSIP), KW&SB and inspect the Bidding Document during office hours [0900 to 1700 hours, Monday to Friday] at the address given below.
5. A complete set of bidding document  in English may be purchased by interested Bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of PKR 5000 (Pak Rupees Five Thousand only) through Pay Order in favour of Project Director-Karachi Water & Sewerage Services Improvement Project (KWSSIP), Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KW&SB) (the Employer) for each set of the Bidding Document or may be downloaded from https://www.kwssip.gos.pk/ and/or on the World Bank’s external website.
6. Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 15:30 hours on Tuesday the 21st March 2023. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below on Tuesday the 21st March 2023 at 16:00 hours.
7. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of PKR 50,000,000.
8. Attention is drawn to the Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers dated: July 2016 (Revised November 2017 & August 2018) requiring the Borrower to disclose information on the successful Bidder’s beneficial ownership, as part of the Contract Award Notice, using the Beneficial Ownership Disclosure Form as included in the Bidding Document.
