ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION

World Banks Global Transport and Information and Communication Technologies Practice (GTIDR) seeks to hire an internationally experienced Consulting Firm (consultancy) to scope out existing infrastructure-sharing business opportunities for the Western Balkan region and to determine the plan of actions to operationalize infrastructure sharing in and between state-owned energy utilities. The initiative will surface potential synergies between the energy and telecommunications sectors in all six countries involved.

There are five principal objectives, which this consultancy is pursuing: (1)to scope out existing demand and business opportunities in the wholesale markets; (2) to take detailed stock of existing excess OPGW capacity on energy networks; (3) to review relevant regulatory frameworks of both energy and telecom; (4) to provide actionable recommendations; and (5) to launch and support regional dialogue.
