Description

United States Agency for International Development (USAID - Armenia) has initiated the Rule of Law/Justice Sector Support Project in Armenia. The project focuses on a stand-alone activity related to judicial reform within courts, relevant self-regulatory agencies and academic institutions. E-court solutions are intended to modernize internal case management systems, improve the professional skills of the judiciary, enhance the efficiency of court administration, promote alternative dispute resolution mechanisms to alleviate court backlogs, sustain and ensure the functionality of the Supreme Judicial Council (a self-regulatory agency responsible for judicial testing, candidate selection, hiring and disciplining), promote law school education and professional training in certain specific legal and regulatory areas and strengthen the legal and regulatory environment through monitoring, communication and stakeholder collaboration. The project is expected to last for five years with an estimated budget of between US$4m and US$9.99m.
