LBN-CO-CFP-137-25 Developing and implementing a process for enhancing local capacities for conflict prevention, insider mediation, and peacebuilding in targeted communities/cluster (9 communities and 1 cluster) in Bekaa & Baalbeck - Hermel governorates

Objectives: The UNDP aims to enhance conflict prevention and peacebuilding capacities among local communities in the Bekaa and Baalbeck-Hermel governorates in Lebanon. The project targets local Mechanism for Social and Local Development (MSLD) committees and Insider Mediator (IM) network members through capacity assessments, training programs, and the development of local peace strategies. Specific objectives include equipping local actors with mediation and crisis management skills, developing early warning systems, promoting social cohesion, and establishing IM Crisis Prevention and Response Taskforces. Expected outcomes include improved local actors' skills in conflict resolution, enhanced community preparedness, and sustainable peace strategies.
