Coordinated ERA-NET Call 2010
A Pre-Proposal Check (PPC) service is available (see form in Additional documents) to those wishing to submit an ERA-NET action under the FP7 joint call. This service allows a proposer to check on the appropriateness of their proposed action and the eligibility of the proposal consortium.
Please note that the pre-proposal check service, for the cut-off date of 19th January 2010, will remain open until 17th December 2009.
Notice to applicants
1. Method of calculating indirect costs: The Commission has decided to extend the possibility of using the specific flat rate of 60% for indirect costs, (applicable under certain conditions to non-profit bodies, secondary and higher education establishments, research organisations and SMEs) for the entire duration of FP7. The cut-off date for this rate (1/1/2010), mentioned in annex 3 to the Guide for applicants, is therefore no longer applicable.
2. Audits of ongoing projects: The following paragraph should be inserted at the end of chapter 5 of the Guide for Applicants ("What happens next"):
Applicants are reminded that the Commission's Research DGs have adopted a new and reinforced audit strategy aimed at detecting and correcting errors in cost claims submitted in projects on the basis of professional auditing standards. As a result the number of audits and participants audited will increase significantly and the Commission's services will assure appropriate mutual exchange of information within its relevant internal departments in order to fully coordinate any corrective actions to be taken in a consistent way.

The European Union's Framework 7 Programme (FP7) for research financing expired in 2014 to be replaced by the new Horizon 2020 program which is the financial instrument used to establish Innovation Union, a flagship program of Europe 2020 that aims to ensure Europe's worldwide competitiveness.
Horizon 2020 is intended to be a tool to stimulate economic growth and create employment and enjoys the political support of Europe's leaders and Members of the European Parliament.
Horizon 2020 contributes to this goal by tying research and innovation together and concentrating on three critical areas: outstanding science, industrial leadership and societal issues. The objective is for Europe to create world-class research and technology which will drive economic growth.
Furthermore, the program concentrates its efforts on fewer issues with larger resources therefore directly supporting the Commission's political goals. It works to build a low-carbon, a climate-resilient future, connect economic and environmental advantages, develop a the circular economy and digitize and modernize European industry and services to increase effectiveness.
Covers healthcare services, public health systems, and activities aimed at promoting physical and mental well-being.
Focuses on collecting data, generating new knowledge, and applying it to develop improved methods, technologies, products, and solutions across sectors.
