Job description

The prospective candidate will be responsible for daily coordination of the Digital Trade Policy Group, Export Controls and Sanctions, and Digital Taxation Working Groups. He/she will act as a focal point for strategy and advocacy activities related to digital trade policy both at the EU and international level, reporting directly to the relevant Policy Director and working in close coordination with policy and communications colleagues within the same and across other policy groups in privacy, security, data flows, standards in emerging tech, digital transformation etc. You will monitor and provide strategic advice on relevant EU and international trade policy developments. You will also be able to build and maintain relationships with EU and international stakeholders and decision-makers in trade policy.

Key requirements for the role include

Master’s degree in European affairs, law, economics, political science, international relations or a related field.
Excellent understanding of digital trade policy at both the EU and international levels, especially in the field of export controls and digital taxation.
Excellent writing skills in English. You are comfortable to conduct research, identify and use literature and data to formulate policy recommendations and key messages.
Relevant IT and presentation skills.
One to three years’ work experience in a policy, advocacy, or government role. Experience in trade association, law firm, consultancy, or European/international institution a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and culturally diverse environment.
