Summary

ESDO is growing at an exciting pace and our repeat clients appreciate the quality and speed of our work in difficult places. Our growth and impact means we need a high achieving professional to lead our business development for larger M&E projects. The key focus of this role will be larger M&E projects (of between €150k and €3m) in developing, fragile and conflict affected countries. This role is for you if:
  • you are experienced in winning research and M&E projects for the EU, FCDO, USAID or the large INGOs these donors fund;

The Role 

This role will lead ESDO's business development with a focus on larger M&E projects. The role responsibilities will include:

Business Development

  • Represent ESDO and our values externally;
  • Develop and execute a business development strategy for your practice;
  • Network closely with humanitarian actors to be their default M&E partner;
  • Leverage ESDO's focus areas and other practices (e.g., on intersectionality) to carve out niche partner roles for ESDO with large prime contractors;
  • Build close partnerships with key clients and donors; andUltimately, submit winning proposals for projects you can be proud of your team delivering.

Organisational Leadership

You will also become a member of ESDO's Senior Leadership Team, where you will contribute to organisational development and decisions. 
 
You will also be expected to participate in continuous professional development processes.

Requirements

A successful candidate will meet the following requirements:
  • Complete fluency in written English
  • 5+ years of experience in business development or delivery of large MEAL projects
  • A track record of winning large M&E projects from either the EU, UK or US governments

Benefits

This is a remote homeworking position and ESDO contributes to the cost of a co-working space. This means you can be based anywhere in the world.
 
Working hours are flexible to accommodate candidates with a range of personal circumstances.
 
Monthly compensation for this role will be agreed with the preferred candidate based on their experience and performance. In addition, the role is entitled to performance based payments.
