The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of two years. There are very good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be Addis Abeba, Ethiopia.
As the Global Partnership Coordinator, you will lead Welthungerhilfe’s efforts to strengthen and optimize Civil Society partnerships at local, national, regional, and international levels in French- and English-speaking countries. Your role will be pivotal in shaping and implementing Welthungerhilfe’s partnership strategy, ensuring alignment with our localization goals and global priorities. You will enhance the impact, quality, and efficiency of Welthungerhilfe’s collaborations by developing and refining global standards, guidelines, and approaches to Civil Society partnerships. Additionally, you will deliver operational guidance and translate learnings into partnership strategies.
Beyond strategy and implementation, you will play a key role in positioning Welthungerhilfe as a recognized leader in development cooperation and humanitarian assistance. By fostering meaningful partnerships and innovative approaches, you will help drive sustainable, high-impact solutions that create lasting change.
Develop, implement, and regularly update Welthungerhilfe's global partnership strategy in coordination with key stakeholders to align with evolving global trends
Assess, coordinate, and manage strategic, cross-regional, and global partnerships in consultation with Regional Directors and relevant stakeholders
Define methodology and indicators to evaluate partnership impact, efficiency, and alignment with Welthungerhilfe's strategic objectives
Track partner performance across Country Offices, ensuring transparency and compliance with Welthungerhilfe standards in collaboration with Finance, Legal & Compliance, Procurement, and Audit
Facilitate the development of standardized tools/frameworks (e.g., partner assessment, reporting templates) and oversee the knowledge base to ensure accessibility for Country Office staff
Provide strategic guidance to Country Offices on partnerships, ensuring alignment with Welthungerhilfe objectives
Oversee and delegate capacity-strengthening initiatives, including training modules, workshops, and e-learning, prioritizing strategic topics
Facilitate global and cross-regional knowledge-sharing platforms, including regular exchange meetings and working groups
Represent Welthungerhilfe in global forums to promote its partnership strategies and localization agenda
Advocate for Welthungerhilfe's partnership priorities through marketing, storytelling, and knowledge-sharing mechanisms to enhance visibility and creditability
A University or College degree in a relevant field
Excellent spoken and written French and English language skills
At least 5 years of professional experience working in the humanitarian/development sector with Civil Society partners in program work
Excellent internal and external stakeholder management and process steering skills
Excellent and empathic communication skills across hierarchies and a wide range of stakeholders
Familiarity with the international discourse on partnerships
Experience in humanitarian and development project management
Very good organizational skills
