Purpose of this function

The Retail Communications + Events Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of the communications policy of Terre des Hommes stores.

Together with the manager Retail communication & business development, you ensure that external communication continues to develop. You work on the visibility of our stores for customers, donors and volunteers, so that they are recognizable and findable and our unique brand inspires more people. Where a regional coordinator focuses on the store operation and the success of the store, you ensure that it is recognized as a charity store and becomes more visible - in the street scene, local media and online. Because when the reach grows, the result of the store also grows.

You strengthen the brand, give national campaigns a face and focus on what activates the public, within the framework of Terre des Hommes and the strategy of the charity shops.

You are an independent thinker and creative doer. You understand the idea behind a brand like Terre des Hommes and have a nose for language and image. You apply the tone of voice and imagery in various ways and understand the difference between informing, inspiring and activating. Do you have a good idea? Then you enjoy working it out yourself in a communication tool or activity.

You like working with people and creating resources that are used by various users. Your communication is clear and you are used to being an intermediary. You switch effortlessly between professionals and volunteers who need an advertising file, for example. In addition, you work quickly and independently.

You are an active part of a new team and enjoy pioneering. You contribute to its development by giving open feedback, sharing ideas and improving processes with enthusiasm.

Position in the organization

You will report to the Manager Retail Communication & Business Development and will be part of a team of four. This team focuses on growing and making the store network visible.

Together with the operational team, we form the store support team, with a total of 10/11 team members.

The store support team is responsible for a well-functioning store network, where customers and volunteers feel at home and supported.

This network consists of more than 40 stores and 1700 committed volunteers.

The Store Support Team provides the entire network with experience in Retail, Sales, Volunteer Engagement, Administration and Legal Support.

You will also regularly join the teams that are involved in communication and fundraising from TdHNL. You will work closely with them, coordinate activities and ensure that we use each other's work efficiently.
