SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT
The Southeast Asia Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention Platform is a pivotal initiative supported by a AUD20 million investment from the Australian Government over five years (2024 to 2029). The Platform aims to enhance GBV prevention efforts across Southeast Asia by fostering collaboration among governments, civil society organisations, international bodies, and other stakeholders. We are guided by the principles of being locally driven, evidence-based, inclusive and diverse, survivor-centred and trauma informed, adaptable, collaborative, minimising harm, accessible and innovative. We seek to build capacity, amplify evidence, and innovate in the prevention of GBV. 
 
 
SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
Reporting to the Program Director and working in close collaboration with the Facilitate Lead, Technical Director and Communications Director, the Learning Designer will support the translation of GBV prevention course content into an interactive and effective learning program to be uploaded to an LMS.
 
The initial LOE allocated to this role is 30 days in Year 2 (July 2025-June 2026), with the possibility of additional days in subsequent years to support the design of additional modules for the online learning program.
 
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
      I.   Activities

  • Provide recommendations on the LMS and authoring tools necessary to design and host the learning program.
  • Take part in “blueprinting” session(s) with the content writers (Facilitate Lead and Platform Technical Partner team) to understand learning objectives and content requirements.
  • Produce learning program blueprint.
  • Undertake process of “storyboarding” for each module as the content is finalised by writers, maximising the interactive learner experience through activities and a range of content types.
  • Present storyboard to Facilitate Lead, Technical Partner team and Program Director for feedback and approval to proceed with build
  • Agree with team any graphics or video content required for the learning program that the team will produce.
  • Consult with experts in the team on accessibility features e.g. closed captioning, colour contrast, font and font size, graphics and language to ensure that all elements meet the Platform’s accessibility requirements.
  • Coordinate with graphic designer, videographer and any other content contributors, as necessary.
  • Build final learning program as agreed and upload to LMS.
  • Support pilot testing process of each module and make any adjustments as required.
  • Support the process of translating the learning program into other languages including adjustments to design and upload.

    II.    Output
An accessible learning program hosted on an appropriate Learning Management System.
 III.      Timeline
It is anticipated that the time required to complete the content, design, build, upload and possible translation of the learning program will take 18-20 weeks. The following timeline provides general guidance but can be adjusted as necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Demonstrated experience programming learning programs / courses for upload to a Learning Management system, including programming skills and experience using a variety of authoring tools.
  • Understanding of adult learning techniques and approaches.
  • Experience developing learning products on issues related to gender equality, social inclusion, gender-based violence or similar, related topics.
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to convey concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment, delivering quality within given timeframes.
  • Ability to perform to a high standard and deliver high quality outputs.
  • Excellent communication in English language both written and oral.
