Team Leader - Local Fund Agent - Cameroon

SGS The Netherlands office currently has four LFA teams in Latin America, Southern Africa and Oceania and we are planning to submit a proposal to TGF for LFA Cameroon.  The Local Fund Agent works closely with the Country Team at the Global Fund Secretariat to evaluate and monitor activities before, during and after the implementation of a grant.

The position is part-time and mostly remote with the occasional field visit.

 

Requirements of the Team Leader:

Ø  A Graduate Degree, or a degree followed by membership in an industry-recognized professional body in: Public Health; Finance/Accounting; Public Administration; Business Administration; Social Science; or other relevant discipline.

Ø  10 years of management experience, preferably in the health, social or financial sector with:

o   strong project management and team management skills, ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines in complex environment;

 

o   an in-depth knowledge of issues relating to project management in developing countries;

o   strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy and tact to effectively communicate with senior-level officials, multiple stakeholders from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds; 

 

o   strong professional oral communication, writing and analytical skills, including the development of reports, oral presentations, and technical/persuasive documents.

 

Ø  Must have good written and spoken English and French.

 

Ø  National work experience is desirable.

 

 

The Team Leader is expected to:

ü  triangulate programmatic, financial and health product data and findings to ensure adequate quality assurance of LFA deliverables and who has sound knowledge of the grant implementation context.

 

ü  demonstrate good management and leadership skills,

ü  be responsible for managing the LFA team and ensuring proper staffing for high-quality deliverables,

ü  be co-responsible for monitoring and managing the LFA workplan,

ü  meet, on an occasional basis, with government officials and other in-country stakeholders. Excellent communication and diplomatic skills are therefore required for this position.
