The Government of Belize acting through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology (MOECST) has received financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), toward the cost of the Skill for the Future Program and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

The consulting services (“the Services”) for the Consultancy Service to Design and Implement Programs to Promote Participation of Women in 4IR Education Fields include the following objectives with an expected duration of 6 months.

The objectives of the consultancy are:

The main objective of this consultancy is to increase access to gender-specific education services to promote inclusive education by providing girls and young women with the confidence, tools, knowledge, and support to enter and flourish in the world of 4iR. Specific objectives include:

  1. Design and implement extracurricular 4iR activities for 1,000 primary and secondary female students, including reinforcement classes in STEAM and coding, as well as field visits, group mentoring, and interaction with female STEAM role models
  2. To develop a comprehensive strategy aimed at information outreach to girls and their families to promote their continued studies and work in 4iR fields including recruitment for extracurricular activities

Position Description

The Trainer will be responsible for delivering engaging, hands-on instruction in STEAM and Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) fields to primary and secondary school students.

Candidates shall have at a minimum the following qualifications:

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, stem education, or related field (Master’s preferred).

Skills and Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience delivering training or instruction in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math subjects or Fourth Industrial Revolution-related fields (coding, robotics, AI).
  • Experience working with primary and secondary school students.
  • Prior involvement in mentorship or capacity-building programs, particularly gender inclusive initiatives and initiatives focused on girls’ education.
  • Experience working with digital tools and learning platforms.

Language:

Professionally proficient and fluent in written and spoken English.
