Background

SLM is preparing a proposal in response to The Global Fund’s Request for Proposals for LFA services in Myanmar. This role entails independent verification of grant performance, financial management, and health product supply chains under challenging conditions, including post-disaster recovery and systemic disruptions.

Position Summary

The Junior Procurement and Supply Management Expert provides in-country, hands-on support for the verification of supply chain activities. This role leverages local knowledge of Myanmar's logistics and procurement landscape to assist the Senior PSM Expert in assessing the performance of the supply chain at the operational level.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support the Senior PSM Expert in all PSM-related verification tasks.
2. Conduct physical inventory verifications and spot checks at central and regional warehouses.
3. Review logistics documentation, such as stock cards, proof of delivery, and transport records.
4. Gather information on local procurement practices and market conditions.
5. Assist in drafting reports on PSM findings.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

1. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in pharmacy, procurement, or supply chain and logistics.
2. At least three years of hands-on experience in procurement/supply chain management of health products in Myanmar.
3. Strong understanding of local logistics, customs clearance, and distribution challenges in Myanmar.
4. Prior experience with the Global Fund is strongly preferred.
5. Fluency in English is required; Burmese is a strong asset.
6. The position must be based in-country (Myanmar).
