Social, Gender and GBV Specialist

Sheladia Associates is seeking a professional Social, Gender and GBV Specialist to join our team for the upcoming CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION OF MAPUTO BUS RAPID TRANSIT (BRT) CIVIL WORKS

The overall objective of the consultancy services is to ensure that MOVE BRT system construction project is implemented within the time schedule, with applicable national legislation, international and accepted quality standards and agreed costs and in compliance with the World Bank environment and social safeguard policies. The BRT system construction project aims to improve mobility and accessibility along a selected corridor in the Maputo Metropolitan Area.

Required Qualifications:

• University degree in social sciences, sociology, social development, social service, Gender, community development, anthropology or related field;
• English language capability B2 level or higher;
• Proficiency in written and oral communication in Portuguese and English and good communication and interpersonal skills;
• At least 10 years of professional experience in social and gender fields of expertise;
• Knowledge of national legislation and local language;
• Must have worked on at least two (2) operations during the last five years, as Social Development specialist including community engagement;
• Must have worked on at least two (2) operations during the last five years, applying the World Bank or Similar Guidelines on Gender and GBV/SEA/SH approaches;
