STOOS Consulting is a leading research, monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) consultancy operating across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe since 2019. The firm specializes in program evaluations, third-party monitoring (TPM), public opinion and perception studies, and livelihoods and resilience research, with extensive experience in fragile and conflict-affected contexts. Through its network of local offices and field teams in countries such as Iraq, Syria, Ukraine, South Sudan, and Türkiye, STOOS ensures methodologically rigorous and context-sensitive evidence generation to inform humanitarian and development decision-making.

Position Summary

STOOS Consulting is currently seeking M&E and Research Field Managers for short-term consultancies in Ukraine. The Field Managers will play a key role in coordinating the implementation of STOOS’s monitoring, evaluation, and research assignments, including project evaluations, needs assessments, and independent verification studies. The role involves supervising field teams, managing logistics, ensuring compliance with security and access protocols, and maintaining data quality and ethical standards throughout the research cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and supervise field researchers and enumerators for data collection activities.
  • Coordinate logistical planning, including access permissions, travel arrangements, and risk management.
  • Monitor and ensure the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of data collection.
  • Facilitate communication between field teams, local partners, and STOOS’s technical managers.
  • Support translation and transcription of collected data where needed.
  • Prepare field reports, debrief summaries, and contribute to data management and cleaning processes.
  • Uphold STOOS Consulting’s Data Protection, Safeguarding, and Ethical Research Standards throughout all activities.

Ideal Candidate Profile

STOOS is seeking dynamic, self-motivated professionals with a proven track record in field research, monitoring, and evaluation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience managing data collection and field coordination in humanitarian or development contexts.
  • Strong local knowledge and professional networks in Ukraine, including government, civil society, and community-level actors.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Ukrainian (mandatory). Additional proficiency in regional dialects is an asset.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience in data quality control, translation, and coding.

Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Ukrainian.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in field management, research coordination, or M&E implementation.
  • Strong network in the country in different locations to recruit field researchers, enumerators and daily workers.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in dynamic, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in social sciences, development studies, statistics, or a related field preferred.
