Are you a licensed medical doctor interested in gaining experience and knowledge in the humanitarian field, particularly in providing emergency medical care?
UK-Med is a frontline medical aid charity. Born of the British National Health Service, we’ve been working for over 30 years towards a world where everyone has the healthcare they need when crises or disasters hit.
We are seeking Medical Doctors specializing in paediatrics who are enthusiastic about expanding their knowledge and skills within a humanitarian environment. You will need to be available for international travel and deployment on short notice, with a minimum commitment of 4-6 weeks (longer availability is highly desirable). Your primary role will be to support the healthcare needs of both host and internally displaced persons.
Our ideal candidates will be fully licensed and experienced Medical Doctors with a strong background in paediatrics. You should have extensive experience working in Emergency Departments, providing emergency medical care to patients, particularly children, with a wide range of medical conditions.
To be considered for this role, you must hold a current medical license and be able to demonstrate your current and unconditional membership in a suitable registering organization, along with specific qualifications and professional registrations in Paediatric Medicine.
You will be determined, high performing, compassionate and collaborative, as well as being committed to learning and supporting others to learn. Language skills will be an advantage. We offer excellent learning opportunities and occasional opportunities to work in international humanitarian responses, should you decide to join our Register at a later date.
We strongly recommend that you read the Candidate Information Pack - Paediatrician - Register - Jan 2026 before applying for this role.
To apply, please submit a current CV and a supporting letter (no more than 2 pages) that includes a detailed explanation of your suitability for this post with specific reference to the essential criteria in the person specification.
Applications must be submitted through our online jobs portal.
This vacancy will close as soon as we have received enough strong applications. Please apply as soon as possible.
The selection process consists of two stages:
Interview Stage: All applicants will go through an initial interview stage.
Selection Training Stage: Applicants who pass the interview stage and do not have a minimum of 3 years of humanitarian experience will be required to complete a selection training.
