Iraq (Kurdistan Region): Team Leader (m/f/d) / Key Expert 1 - SME Loop

Dorsch Impact is recruiting a Team Leader (m/f/d) / Key Expert 1 (SME & Training & Coaching Expert) for a GIZ-funded assignment supporting agribusiness SME scale-up and job creation in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (Soran & Garmyan).

Timeframe: starting June 2026, minimum 8 months (indicative).
Level of effort (per ToR): 114 expert days total: 24 days home-based/remote + 90 days in-country (KRI, Erbil).

Key responsibilities

• Lead overall implementation, quality assurance, and stakeholder coordination (incl. GIZ and local partners/BDS provider)
• Technical leadership of SME Loop delivery: ToT/ToC oversight, training/coaching quality, M&E and results reporting
• Ensure inclusive, context- and conflict-sensitive implementation

Required profile

• Senior experience in SME promotion / entrepreneurship support (agribusiness/value chains strongly preferred), at least 7 years, with 6 years in training and coaching of SMEs
• 3 years of leadership experience as project team leader of at least 2 team members
• Proven SME Loop methodology experience (implementation leadership; training & coaching systems)
• Strong professional experience in the Middle East (Iraq/KRI highly preferred)
• 5 years of professional experience in projects outside the Middle East
• 3 years of professional experience in projects in the Middle East, of which 2 years in projects in Iraq
• 6 years of professional experience in DC projects
• Excellent English (C1 level); Kurdish/Arabic is an asset
• University degree in business administration, economics or agronomy
