  • Lead global readiness for external audits (accreditation body, regulatory, and client audits), mobilising subject matter experts (SMEs) and business leaders in promoting a culture of continuous audit readiness, and ensuring timely closure of all findings.
  • Oversee system design, integration, and governance of the Business Management System, ensuring it meets accreditation, regulatory, and business requirements across all functions and regions.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to impartiality, compliance, and accreditation, including oversight of complaints, appeals, and coordination of the Global Impartiality Stakeholder Network (GISN).
  • Develop and oversee the global internal audit programme, using audit outcomes to drive process improvement, risk mitigation, and capability development.
  • Leverage data and horizon scanning to identify regulatory and accreditation changes, track performance trends, recommend improvements, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Build global Q&C capability, ensuring staff competence through training and development, supporting cross-functional collaboration, and representing BSI in external stakeholder forums when required.

To thrive in this role, you will have:-

  • Robust experience in Conformity Assessment at regional/global level, with substantial knowledge of IAF Mandatory Documents, ISO/IEC 17021 and related accreditation/recognition requirements. Any background in accreditation management e.g. ISO/IEC 17021/17029/17064, and practical auditing experience will be desirable.
  • Strong leadership, influencing and stakeholder engagement capabilities, ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure, together with knowledge in audit techniques, CAP management and root cause analysis.
  • Experience in managing relationships with accreditation and regulatory bodies, as well as risk management, impartiality oversight, and compliance monitoring.
  • High integrity, with strong commitment to impartiality and compliance who take initiative and proactively identify risks and drive the team for continuous improvements.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change, with experience in working across different regions and culture. Advanced professional certifications e.g. CQI/IRCA, Six Sigma or Risk Management will be advantageous.
  • Excellent command in written and verbal English with experience in briefing senior leadership and external stakeholders is essential.
