Description

Location:  Jakarta, Indonesia, Desired start date: May 2026

The Impact Investment Readiness in Indonesia (IIRI) is a high-impact, five-year project (2025-2029) launched by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and implemented by Impact Investment Exchange (IIX) to fundamentally strengthen the economic resilience of Indonesian women-focused micro, small, and medium enterprises (WMSMEs). The project is aimed at mobilizing at least CAD 27 million in private capital to support WMSMEs in underserved and climate-vulnerable regions of Indonesia. Desjardins International Development (DID) has been engaged as a key technical and ecosystem-strengthening partner for the IIRI project.

The project addresses critical financing and capacity gaps faced by women entrepreneurs by strengthening WMSME investment readiness through tailored diagnostics and technical assistance, while enhancing the supply of gender-responsive capital by improving investor confidence, impact data, and market infrastructure. Aligned with Indonesia’s development priorities, IIX’s Orange Capital principles, Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy, and key UN Sustainable Development Goals, the IIRI Project seeks to drive systemic change in Indonesia’s impact investing ecosystem and promote inclusive, climate-smart, and gender-transformative economic growth.

Mission

Reporting to the Project coordinator, the incumbent ensures that DID achieves the project objectives and meets its commitments for the activities under their responsibility, as provided for in the implementation plan and the annual work plans approved by the project’s Steering Committee. The advisor supports partner financial institutions in defining a strategy aimed at raising awareness within the entrepreneurial ecosystem for the development of women’s and youth-led Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). In collaboration with stakeholders, the advisor works closely with other project advisors to optimize synergies across the different components and promote coordinated actions.

  • Develop partnerships to better meet the needs of project beneficiaries.
  • Monitor the achievement of expected results in order to assess impacts.
  • Participate in the evaluation of the impacts of the various activities implemented as part of the project.
  • Produce weekly timesheets and a monthly activity report to track effort allocation.
  • At the end of the assignment, provide a document capturing lessons learned and experience to contribute to DID’s tools and service offerings.
  •  Carry out any other related assignment as requested by the Project coordinator.
