Objective:

The project focuses on delivering a comprehensive feasibility assessment and strategic development roadmap for a suburban railway (city train) system within the Tbilisi agglomeration. It ensures that the integration of existing rail infrastructure with the urban transport network aligns with international technical, environmental, and financial standards. This builds a bankable investment package for Asian Development Bank (ADB) financing to support Georgia's transition toward sustainable urban mobility and reduce traffic congestion.

Position: Passenger Information and Wayfinding Specialist

We are seeking an expert to lead the passenger information systems and wayfinding strategy for the suburban railway system within the Tbilisi agglomeration. The role focuses on ensuring that the wayfinding standards on trains, at stations, and in interchange environments are developed , digital and analog passenger information systems are effectively integrated , and intuitive navigation is achieved at major hub stations.

Key Responsibilities

·       Passenger Information System Analysis: Analyze the existing passenger information system and its current integration within the transport network.

·       Wayfinding Standardization: Develop a comprehensive standard for wayfinding to be applied on trains, at stations, and in interchange environments.

·       Digital & Analog System Definition: Determine specific requirements for digital passenger information systems (including PIDs, audio, real-time information, and other digital interfaces) and analog systems (including on-board maps and station signage hierarchy).

·       Interchange Wayfinding Optimization: Develop dedicated interchange concepts for major hub stations, focusing on intuitive wayfinding to ensure seamless transfers between the suburban railway, metro, and bus services.

·       Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and deliver the Brand Identity and Wayfinding Report as part of the Draft Preliminary Design Report.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Urban Design, Transport Planning, Architecture or related field.
  • Min. 7 years of professional experience in design of passenger information systems and wayfinding strategies for public transport systems (urban rail, metro, BRT, bus networks, airports, etc.).

Assignment Details

Location: Remote with international missions to Georgia.
