IDOM Consulting, Engineering, Architecture S.A.U. is seeking a Project Manager Assistant for a site-based waste-treatment project in Abu Dhabi.
Expected starting date: Mid-November 2026
Duration: Approximately 23 months
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Main responsibilities
- Support the preparation of monthly progress reports and payment certificates.
- Provide general project coordination and documentation support.
- Monitor civil works, followed by mechanical and electrical installations and, during the final phase, instrumentation and control works.
- Support the review of quality and health and safety plans.
- Monitor defect lists and corrective actions.
- Identify and report schedule deviations, cost overruns, quality issues, and construction risks.
- Assist with Factory Acceptance Tests, commissioning, and plant performance tests.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, consultants, authorities, and other stakeholders.
Mandatory requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proven on-site experience in the construction and commissioning of waste-treatment plants, MRFs, sorting plants, recycling facilities, or comparable industrial facilities.
- Previous professional experience in the UAE.
- Familiarity with UAE construction practices, authorities, and contractors.
- Experience coordinating civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation and control works.
- Experience with progress reporting, quality, H&S, defects, costs, and contract documentation.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
- Valid driving licence.
- Availability to work full-time in Abu Dhabi for approximately 23 months.
