The Highway Senior Engineer will be responsible for providing technical advice to the PMU and, in particular, support drafting of terms of references for the various consultants that may be required by PMU to prepare the road project; issuing technical opinions and innovative solutions contributions to improve engineering designs and specifications related to roads, as prepared by consulting firms, supervision companies and/or contractors, issuing statements on method statements for road projects, as well as assisting the PMU in the review process of any element of the project component and any related technical requests by the PMU.
The Highway Senior Engineer will also be responsible for supporting PMU on establishment of programme key indicators for performance overall implementation tracking, and progressively quality verification of the project and related works in line with various international standards and, to this end, shall issue a joint technical report every six months, with Bridge Engineer, including recommendations.
The Highway Senior Engineer will join the PMU team during the World Bank implementation support missions and participate in the updating of the project status between successive missions.
LEVEL OF EFFORT: 15 man-months (part time).
