Paid Placements at Islamic Relief

Islamic Relief Worldwide is seeking enthusiastic, highly motivated, dynamic young people who believe in our mission and share our values. Through these 6-month paid placements, we hope to attract and train the next generation of inspired humanitarians who can perform in a rapidly changing and challenging environment.

Islamic Relief’s Kickstart Placements are an opportunity for graduate and post-graduate students from diverse academic backgrounds to undergo work experience within a truly global humanitarian organisation. Each placement includes a supported 6-month development programme delivered by Charityworks. Upon completion, applicants will be equipped to pursue a career within the Humanitarian Sector.

We have various opportunities available across England, Scotland and Wales, including Marketing, HR, Finance, Programmes, Fundraising, Communications and more. We may also be adding additional roles throughout 2021, so check back regularly!

About you

  1. Passionate about serving the needs of the most vulnerable people on this planet and want to explore what it means to work in the Humanitarian Sector
  2. Highly motivated, dynamic with strong communications skills and excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  3. A graduate with a minimum honours degree
  4. An understanding of humanitarian and development work
  5. Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  6. Proactive and able to use initiative to get things done and prioritise his or her work
  7. Strong written communication skills with high attention to detail
  8. Committed to learning and fulfilling the Internships Scheme
  9. Committed to Islamic Relief’s values and core humanitarian principles
  10. Able to travel to the field if required for up to 4 weeks in challenging environments (All expenses will be paid)
