The purpose of this contract is to improve the integration of environment, biodiversity, climate change and Disaster Risk Reduction (EBCD) in EU supported policies, programmes and investments.
Support will be provided to partner countries’ institutions and to EU services, both EU Delegations and Commission headquarters. The services provided will contribute to implement the EU Green Deal’s ambition to mainstream environmental sustainability and climate objectives in all EU policies and action.
The Team Leader will be the main interlocutor of INTPA for the management of the contract and
responsible for ensuring high quality services and deliverables. This person will provide the strategic vision of the assignment, supervise and coordinate the inputs of the key experts and non-key experts. S/he will proactively advise on the development and implementation of effective approaches and activities. This will include, among others:
• Strategic steering and management of the assignment as a whole, carrying out a major part of the day-to-day work, dispatching tasks to the other experts of the team.
• Preparation of specific studies and fulfillment of other support tasks requested by INTPA.
• Supervise the elaboration, production and quality control of the facility’s services and deliverables.
• Ensure the timely preparation of work plans and progress and annual reports.
Qualifications required:
• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in environmental science, natural resources management, sustainable development studies or related disciplines. • A minimum C1 Level in English. • A minimum B2 Level in French and/or Spanish. • A minimum B2 Level in a third language will be considered as an asset. • High-quality writing and communication skills.
Professional experience required:
General professional experience: • At least 10 years of professional experience, including 5 years in the context of development cooperation. • Proven experience and knowledge of established methodologies and tools for the integration (or mainstreaming) of environment and climate change in policies, programmes, projects and investments. • In-depth experience and knowledge of aid delivery methods and the project cycle management. Specific professional experience: • Proven experience as Team leader on at least 3 assignments. • At least 8 years working on EBCD matters, including at least 4 years of professional experience explicitly dedicated to EBCD mainstreaming. • Work experience in developing countries (in situ) of at least 5 years.
