Islamic Relief is supporting aid efforts in the aftermath of the latest earthquake in Pakistan. The 5.9 magnitude earthquake struck the Harnai District in Balochistan. 41 people have been reported to have lost their lives in the disaster and hundreds more have been injured.

Rescue teams are still searching through rubble for others, as many have been reported missing.

Hundreds of homes have been affected, and families have been left homeless. Schools and hospitals in the area have been badly damaged, as well as roads and bridges, which is making recovery efforts more challenging.

Islamic Relief already has a presence in the district of Harnai and their emergency teams are currently on the ground and providing vital assistance to affected families, who are in urgent need of food, shelter, bedding, and hygiene items.

The teams are working with the local government to support rescue efforts for missing persons.
