During the pandemic, the FCDO-funded High Volume Transport Programme (HVT) awarded 20 research projects to gather evidence about the impact of COVID-19 on transport systems in low- and middle-income countries across Africa and South Asia. The completed research has shown that there is an urgent need to develop transport systems that make transport less fragile and more resilient to future challenges.
With this in mind, there is a need to share the findings widely β within the transport sector but also to all those who might not realise the true impact of transport on the issues they are working in, such as health, education, equality, and economic growth.
A Research Knowledge Exchange will be hosted on Wednesday 1st December, 13.00 β 16.00 GMT to share the findings and recommendations from the research and to encourage new ideas to emerge from the evidence and experiences of the last 18 months.
More information about the event can be found here. The event will include the launch of a compendium of findings from the research and a series of interactive workshops on key issues including gender and economic resilience.
