Natural Resource Management for Biodiversity Governance

📅 1 March 2022

Action on the key drivers of biodiversity loss must be taken at upcoming global events – particularly the Convention on Biological Diversity’s (CBD) 15th Conference of the Parties (COP15). Last year, the International Resource Panel (IRP) Co-Chairs Janez Potocnik and Izabella Teixeira outlined principles for halting and reversing biodiversity loss through natural resource management in their opinion piece Building Biodiversity.

IRP then facilitated a high-level roundtable, bringing together leaders from global nature, development, and civil society organizations to discuss practically operationalizing these principles.

Based on key messages from the Co-Chair piece and group of global leaders, this webinar will give insights on how natural resource management can become a powerful force in the implementation of the next global biodiversity targets, to be agreed upon at CBD COP15.
