Korea Global Adaptation Week 2023 (KGAW 2023) is one of the significant adaptation events of the year, which aims to showcase and promote actions and practices to adapt to the impacts of climate change. KGAW 2023 is held on 28 August to 1 September 2023.
KGAW 2023 will be a special event, with coordinated efforts by the Ministry of Environment, Republic of Korea, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) secretariat, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Korea Adaptation Center for Climate Change of Korea Environment Institute (KEI KACCC), and Incheon Metropolitan City. More than 700 representatives from governments, civil society, the private sector, academia, the United Nations and other international organizations, and multilateral financial institutions from around the world, are expected to attend KGAW 2023.
The week will feature the Regional NAP Expo for Asia and the Pacific, which is organized by the UNFCCC Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG); the Regional UN4NAPs Forum for Asia and the Pacific and the Resilience Frontiers brainstorming meeting, both of which are interagency efforts coordinated by the UNFCCC secretariat; and the 8th Asia-Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Forum (APAN Forum) organized by UNEP. It will also feature special events, Global Adaptation Dialogue, hosted by the Ministry of Environment, Republic of Korea, and various other events and exhibitions.
