This year’s forum ‘Towards a Citizens Energy Package: Empowering Citizens for a Just Energy Transition’ takes place in the context of the next Commission mandate, following the European elections earlier this year.
It will kickstart work on the Commission’s Citizens Energy Package, which will increase citizen participation in the energy transition and strengthen the social dimension of the Energy Union.
It will be live web-streamed with the possibility for the online audience to engage. The working language is English and interpretation is not guaranteed. EC counts on the representatives’ active participation in the Forum and their willingness to work with other national stakeholders to maintain momentum at the national, regional, and local levels.
Alongside the Citizen’s Energy Forum, the Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform will host a workshop on 4 December 2024 to exchange experiences on energy communities. The workshop is intended for local and regional authorities, as well as Energy Agencies and other public actors that can enable the emergence of energy communities.
