📅 19 – 20 October 2026
Hilton Hotel, Panama City

The evolving geopolitical landscape has prompted international development institutions to expand their mandate well beyond closing infrastructure gaps, taking on critical functions in stabilizing economies, mobilizing investment, and advancing standards for sustainability, governance, and risk management. In this environment, legal frameworks and the legal function within these institutions have become increasingly strategic in ensuring the effectiveness, transparency, and coherence of development finance.

Against this backdrop, the Association of Lawyers in Intergovernmental Finance and Development Organizations (ALIFDO) brings together lawyers specializing in international finance and development to exchange knowledge, experiences, and best practices across public institutions, multilateral organizations, development banks, and the private sector.

The 2026 Conference in Panama City builds on this mission, strengthening legal dialogue at both the regional and international levels and fostering cooperation networks among legal and development professionals worldwide. As the first edition of this conference series to be held in Latin America, it also serves as a timely opportunity to highlight the region’s distinct challenges, perspectives, and priorities in development finance.

The event will be hosted by CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean.
