In the context of income-generating measures, the education project promotes work placements in the private sector by bringing together employers and job-seekers. In addition to job placement services, vocational training and careers advice courses are also offered.
The courses provide participants with careers advice, teach them how to apply for jobs and prepare them specifically for working in the private sector. GIZ supports internships by paying salaries for a limited period of two to four months. The scheme is a win-win situation for everyone involved: employers, employees, and interns. In challenging economic times, employers can gain an impression of their new employees’ potential. Interns gather initial work experience in the private sector, and employees can prove their worth in their new job.
