The 2019 biennial ALTER-Net and EKLIPSE, entitled The EU Biodiversity Strategy Beyond 2020: Research insights and needs for biodiversity and ecosystem services in Europe, will explore these very questions.

With the central theme of the post 2020 European biodiversity targets and the potential contributions of scientific research, we will take a proactive role in the consideration and shaping of this critical strategy.

Researchers, scientists, decision-makers, practitioners (from all disciplines and fields), and anyone invested in the future of biodiversity in Europe are invited to register to attend this conference.

The conference will cover four specific sub-themes:

  • Envisaging plausible futures
  • Probable changes in nature
  • New relationships
  • Policy responses
