The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Government of Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Nay Pyi Taw, to provide grant aid of up to 2.726 billion yen for the Project for the Japan-Myanmar Aung San Vocational Training Institute.

Under this project, a prestigious vocational training institute will be developed employing Japanese expertise, and it will serve as a model school for the training of skilled workers. As a result, human resources and job creation schemes are expected to develop in line with the requirements of the labor market and industry in Myanmar.

For the detailed design of the project, JICA has already signed a grant agreement to provide grant aid of up to 165 million yen in December 2018.
