Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development – 15th Annual General Meeting

The Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development (IGF) supports over 60 nations committed to leveraging mining for sustainable development to ensure negative impacts are limited and financial benefits are shared.

It is devoted to optimizing the benefits of mining to achieve poverty reduction, inclusive growth, social development and environmental stewardship. The International Institute for Sustainable Development has served as Secretariat for the IGF since October 2015. Core funding is provided by the Government of Canada.

This year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will focus on Mining in a Changing Climate.

The AGM is a unique opportunity to engage with government officials from the IGF’s 70+ member nations and representatives from industry, civil society, international organizations, and academia. It provides a global forum to engage with top experts in the field and to learn about the latest developments in efforts to leverage mining for sustainable development.

The AGM will include climate-related sessions that cover a broad range of topics, including:
