The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) is the world’s largest knowledge-led platform on integrated land use, dedicated to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and Paris Climate Agreement.
The Forum takes a holistic approach to create sustainable landscapes that are productive, prosperous, equitable and resilient and considers five cohesive themes of food and livelihood initiatives, landscape restoration, rights, finance and measuring progress. It is led by the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), in collaboration with its co-founders UN Environment and the World Bank and Charter Members.
GLF New York 2019 will bring together a great number of questions concerning the potential of the UN Decade for Ecosystem Restoration – as well as bringing together the right people to respond to these questions and to help to steer the agenda. GLF event participants will mix with the leadership of UN member states and other national delegates as well as restoration experts and researchers to learn from each other. Learning from best practices, the knowledge drawn from Indigenous Peoples and local communities, and coordinating efforts will be emphasized as well as input from youth on how they can contribute to the fight against climate change while supporting ecosystem restoration.
