For nearly 30 years, SIWI has organized World Water Week. Today it is the world’s most influential movement focused on transforming global water challenges.

The theme for 2020 is “Water and Climate Change – Accelerating Action” with a focus on innovation, science and actions needed to tackle one of the greatest threats to our planet and our very existence.

With 4,000 participants from around 135 countries, World Water Week is the meeting place for water experts, decision-makers, business leaders and organization representatives from around 135 countries. This has not only made it into the most important global arena for water issues but has also spurred regional collaboration among actors from Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East-Northern Africa region. During the Week, different days focus on different regions, but so far, there has not been a dedicated European day or much active European networking.
