Between October 18-21, 2016, we had the wonderful opportunity to work with the Private Sector Liaison Office (PLSO) of the World Bank in the Canadian cities of Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver.
The PLSO hosted a series of Business Opportunities seminars on these dates to bring together companies, institutions, and individual consultants in a forum with international development donors like the Asian Development Bank, World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, African Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and other major stakeholders.

One of the major successes of these seminars was assisting participants in learning about upcoming business opportunities and to get timely information to increase competitiveness. Present at all four seminars was our sales team, including Mariana Uzun, Senior Business Development Manager, and Sergiu Casu, Business Development Director, who presented our innovative online platform to participants.
“You cannot become a rock star if you only play your guitar in the garage! You’ve got to get out of your comfort zone if you want to grow and develop,” said Casu during his prepared remarks at the seminar. “Even in good times, we have to think about the options of diversifying our activities and minimising the risk of being dependent on just one market or one type of customer. This is why DevelopmentAid’s platform is so useful for consultants, companies, and institutions working in the development field.”
Arriving home in good spirits, the team reported that the seminars achieved tremendous success in networking with fellow stakeholders in the development sector and closing sales on new memberships. The four PLSO World Bank seminars in Canada were also a resounding success as many companies, NGOs, and individuals were introduced to our innovative online platform.
