The Asia Clean Energy Forum (ACEF) is one of Asia’s leading clean energy events and is held each June. ACEF connects diverse stakeholders from across Asia and the globe, facilitates knowledge sharing, and highlights ADB’s groundbreaking work to scale up clean energy investment in the region.

The clean energy professionals and developing member country (DMC) officials who attend ACEF have one thing in common—they are passionate people who are eager to drive change towards a more sustainable energy future. This year, ACEF celebrates its 15th year of connecting people for impact and is going virtual!

Virtual ACEF responds to the need to link diverse stakeholders from across Asia and the globe, to test out new ways of exchanging information and interacting, and to accelerate progress toward a clean energy transition in the region, even in the midst of a global pandemic. Virtual ACEF will deliver the same level of quality and value that ACEF is known for, while ensuring the safety and health of the participants, reducing costs, eliminating the usual greenhouse gas emissions associated with a physical event, and improving convenience and accessibility.

The ACEF 2020 theme is Vision 20/20, with a focus on cross-sectoral innovations, is derived from the broad objectives of the SDGs, and covers the seven priorities of ADB’s Strategy 2030.

Objectives:
  • Discuss real-world sustainable clean energy solutions with policy makers, thought leaders, and practitioners working in the energy sector.
  • Engage in a unique dialogue between ADB and its developing member countries and partners on the clean energy challenges and opportunities facing the Asian and Pacific region.
  • Share knowledge with peers and identify best practices that can help accelerate and enhance the impact of clean energy transition.
  • Exchange views on the huge impact of COVID -9 on the energy industry and environment – the latest trends and pathways forward.
