Webinar

Parties to the Paris Agreement are called to formulate and communicate long-term low GHG emission development strategies (LT-LEDS) with their national pathways for GHG emission until 2050 and beyond. These LT-LEDS are a fundamental tool available for countries to envision the alignment of low-emission development with broader sustainability, socio-economic, and climate change adaptation goals.

With this webinar UNEP DTU Partnership along with the CBIT Global Coordination Platform and its partners introduce two talks to share recommendations and experiences on the LT-LEDS.

The first talk will provide a brief overview of what is meant by LT-LEDS, what elements they should include, and a detailed look into why and how LT-LEDS should be aligned with short and mid-term climate goals. The second talk will go into depth with the experience of Chile in developing their climate change strategy.

Agenda:

  • Overview of and recommendations for long-term low-emission development strategies, Chiara Falduto (OECD)
  • Designing the climate change strategy for Chile, Carolina Urmeneta (Climate Change Office of the Ministry of Environment of Chile)
