Did you know that via DevelopmenAid your profile can be found by over 180,000 organizations working for global development? Make sure it accurately reflects the best of who you are, and what you do.
Follow the steps below to increase the chances of being found by the right connections:
1. Keep your account updated and optimize content
Login into your account, go to My Profile. Review information and identify areas of improvement, by asking yourself:
- What critical information is missing?
- What important messages am I not communicating about my work and experience?
- What do I want people to view on my profile that is not there right now?
- What contact details shall I add?
- Which documents do I want to make available?
Make sure all your key qualifications are listed in the profile description, you have selected all (but only) the sectors that you are working in, your CV reflects what you’re doing and that everything is up to date, and ensure all valid contact details are added. Not to mention, be sure that all content is spellchecked before publishing.
2. Add keywords or phrases related to your sectors
It is important to optimize your profile for keyword searches so that organizations can find you more often. Create a list of keywords that are relevant to your experience and your sectors of interest.
Add the keywords strategically to your profile description– but not in excess. You should include keywords in your qualifications summary, and update the jobs description the CV. Keywords help recruiters find your profile faster and easily understand your expertise.
By following these simple steps, you ensure your profile presents your skills and qualifications in a professional manner, and you have higher chances of securing more employment opportunities.
3. Broadcast your CV to all consulting organizations, NGOs and firms from your sectors
Now that have an updated profile, it is going to appear more often in the searches made on DevelopmentAid platform by the potential employers. But what if they don’t have the time to do searches on external websites, and only use their internal database to find a candidate? (Which sometimes is the reality, especially when it is about short-term projects with limited deadlines.) In such cases, no matter how hard you worked on your profile updates, some organizations won’t get to see your high-quality profile.
Not to lose any project opportunities, we recommend you to ensure that every organization from your sectors has your CV in their database. You can send them your CV manually, which requires a lot of time investment.
Instead, use our time saving solution and broadcast your CV via our platform. This way, we introduce you in a professional manner to all interested parties and we make them aware about your availability and preferences in terms of new contracts. As a result, you start being contacted as soon as the CV broadcast has been completed and in the future, as CV Broadcast is a long term investment.
