The Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) - Agencia Espaola de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo) - is a state agency responsible for managing the Spanish government's strategy on international development cooperation.
AECID is a public organization that reports to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the State Secretariat for International Cooperation and for Ibero-America and the Caribbean.
The Agency is responsible for creating, executing and administering development cooperation projects and programs, either directly with its own means or in combination with other local and foreign bodies and non-governmental organizations.
Includes initiatives that promote gender equality, protect human rights, and address discrimination and vulnerability across populations.
Supports initiatives that assess performance, measure results, and improve the effectiveness and accountability of projects and programs.
