Objectives: The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a National Consultant on Climate and Ecosystem-Based Adaptation to integrate climate change mitigation and adaptation measures into Kazakhstan's national biodiversity strategy. This involves ensuring that approaches minimizing climate change impacts on biodiversity and developing adaptation strategies align with global biodiversity frameworks. The consultant will update Kazakhstan's National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) to comply with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), focusing on achieving the specified global goals and targets. Additionally, the project supports the inclusion of climate resilience measures in national policies and the preparation of Kazakhstan's Seventh National Report. The outcomes aim to strengthen the synergy between climate policies and biodiversity conservation efforts, ensuring integrated implementation of biodiversity conservation and climate change goals at the national level.
