The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA), i.e., the World Bank Group, towards the cost of the implementation of Competitiveness and Job Creation Project (CJCP) and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under contract for the Construction of Bole-Lemi (Phase II) and Kilinto (Phase I) Industrial Zones (On-Site and Off-Site). The Ministry of Industry intends to prequalify contractors and/or firms for:
The Bole Lemi Phase II and Kilinto Phase I Industrial Zones projects, which are part of the wider industrial growth development program of the country and are expected to include all infrastructure works on-site and off-site such as internal roads and drainage structures, sanitary works, electrical works, domestic water supply system, fire hydrant, sewerage and drainage, landscaping as well as industrial/manufacturing facilities, business support facilities and public facilities. Both sites are found in the outskirts of Addis Ababa within about 15 km radius from the center of town. Bole Lemi Phase II will have an area of 178 hectares and Kilinto IZ will cover 159 hectares of land.
It is expected that Invitations for Bid (IFB) will be made in 1 August 2015. Prequalification will be conducted through prequalification procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers, January 2011, and is open to all Bidders from Eligible source countries, as defined in the Guidelines. A complete set of the prequalification document in English may be purchased by interested Applicants on the submission of a written application to the address above, and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of ETB 600 (six hundred Birr) or in USD 30 (thirty US dollars) or equivalent in convertible currency. The method of payment will be in Certified Payment Order (CPO). Bidders are expected to collect the document from the same office.
Applications for prequalification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered to the address below by 10 February 2015 at or before 2:30 P.M. Local time; and be clearly marked:
