The Government of The Republic of The Gambia has received a grant from the African Development
Fund in the amount of UA 2.0 million, to finance the Institutional Support for Economic and Financial
Governance (ISEFG) II Project. The programme will run for three years from 2012-2014. The
Government intends to apply part of the proceeds of this grant towards the following services:
Consultancy to support the Public Financial Management Unit (PFMU).
The consultant will be expected to provide technical advice and support to the PFMU for a period of 3
months to enable them to effectively carry out their mandate. Specifically the consultant is to support the
PFM strategy review, update, revision and monitoring; develop a capacity building and training plan
for the unit; support the development of PFM training modules to be delivered through the project.
Interested eligible consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform
the services and are invited to submit their Curriculum Vitae (CV), including employment records,
description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills,
etc.
The Projects Coordination Unit, Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs now invite eligible
individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must
provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of
similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.).
A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the ADB’s Rules and
Procedures for the Use of Consultants- May 2008, which is available on the Bank’s website at
http://www.afdb.org. Borrowers are under no obligation to shortlist any consultant who expresses
interest.

About the Funding Agency

The African Development Bank is a regional multilateral development finance institution, established in 1963, with a mandate to further economic development and social progress of African countries, individually and collectively. 80 member countries including all the 54 African countries and 26 non-African countries in the Americas, Europe and Asia own the Bank. 

The Bank's principal functions include:
  1. using its resources for the financing of investment projects and programs relating to the economic and social development of its Regional Member Countries (RMCs);
  2. the provision of technical assistance for the preparation and execution of development projects and programs;

For projects financed by the Bank resources, the charter requires suppliers for contracts for institutional activities and projects to be nationals of a member country. Only bidders from a member country of the Bank are eligible to participate in the procurement process. For goods to be eligible, they must originate from a member country.
