he Gawula Foundation Sports, Arts and Culture Development Programme is a community-based initiative designed to promote youth empowerment, social cohesion, and economic participation through structured sporting activities, creative arts development, and cultural heritage preservation.
This programme aligns with the objectives of the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, the National Development Plan (NDP 2030), and broader youth development strategies aimed at addressing unemployment, inequality, and social instability within disadvantaged communities.
The project seeks to:
Develop sporting talent through coaching, tournaments, and mentorship
Provide arts training in music, dance, drama, and visual arts
Promote cultural identity and heritage through community events and exhibitions
Offer leadership, entrepreneurship, and life-skills training
Create pathways to employment and income-generating opportunities in the creative and sports industries
Through strategic partnerships with schools, local government, private sector sponsors, and community stakeholders, the programme will create safe recreational spaces and structured development platforms for youth aged 12–35.
