Description
GIZ has been represented in Mongolia since 1991 and established its own office in Ulan Bator in 1998.
The major challenges facing the country include the need to ensure the sustainable use of natural resources and energy sources and the imperatives of generating economic growth that benefits all citizens equally.
In Mongolia GIZ is working in the following priority areas:
- support for sustainable mineral resource management
- biodiversity
- energy efficiency.
The aim is to improve the economic environment and thus indirectly help reduce poverty.
