Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children is a Tanzanian government body that was created through the merger of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and the Ministry of Community Development, Gender and Children under the Cabinet of Ministers of John Magufuli in 2015.
The Ministry’s mission is to ensure the promotion of social development, gender equality and children’s rights through the implementation of strategic policies and effective guidelines. It collaborates with active internal stakeholders in order to achieve set goals. The Ministry’s divisions include the Preventive Services Division, the Curative Services Division, the HR Development Division, the Health Quality Assurance Division, the Social Welfare Division, the Administration & HR Management Division and the Policy & Planning Division as well as other miscellaneous units.
Main focus areas: Health Policy, Gender Issues, Community Development and other policies related to the elderly and children.
Ministry’s activities: Public Service & Good Governance, Regional Administration & Local Government, Policy Framework, Youth, Union Affair & Environment, Employment & Disabled, Human Rights, Justice, etc.
